What is being recalled?
Babyletto has issued a voluntary recall for a limited number of Kiwi Electronic Recliner and Swivel Gliders with USB Ports sold between May 2023 and February 2025. Please visit babylettorecall.com for a complete list of affected styles and batch numbers.
Is this issue related to the power supply, wiring, or USB panel?
The issue is isolated to a specific version of the USB/control panel component. This part will be fully replaced in the repair kit.
Is the issue related to the entire chair or just the USB control panel?
The issue is limited to a specific version of the USB/control panel component. It does not affect the chair’s structure or its swivel and gliding function.
Is my chair safe if it’s not plugged in?
Yes. If the chair is unplugged, it poses no risk.
Can I still use the chair if I don’t use the USB port?
Yes. If the chair is unplugged, it poses no risk. You may continue using it as a swivel glider.
Where were the affected chairs sold?
Lots included in this voluntary recall were sold at Crate Kids and online at Babyletto.com, Amazon.com, Babylist.com, Target.com, Pottery Barn Kids.com, Wayfair.com and other websites from May 2023 through February 2025.
I bought my chair secondhand – am I still eligible?
Yes. As long as your chair is part of the affected batch, you are eligible to receive a free repair kit, even if it was purchased secondhand.
How long will it take to receive my repair kit?
Kits typically ship within 2 to 4 weeks.
What is included in the repair kit?
The repair kit includes a new USB panel, all necessary installation materials and tools, instructions and a link to a detailed repair video.
Is the repair kit safe and easy to use?
Yes. It has been tested for ease and safety and has been approved and reviewed by the CPSC. A video tutorial is included. If you need assistance in completing the repair or have special circumstances, please reach out to our Support team at kiwi.recall@babyletto.com
How difficult is it to install the repair kit?
The repair kit takes under 5 minutes to install and all necessary tools are included. The kit will also include a detailed installation video and instructions to guide you. No special training is required.
Will installing the repair kit impact the warranty of my chair?
No. The repair kit will not have impact on the product warranty.
How do I know if other Kiwi Recliners are affected?
This recall applies only to specific production batches. Please visit babylettorecall.com to check for impacted serial numbers. The serial number can be found on a tag on the underside of the footrest.
Will this recall affect any other Babyletto recliners or gliders?
No. The recall is limited to specific styles and batches of the Kiwi Electronic Recliner and Swivel Glider with USB Ports. No other chairs are impacted.
My Kiwi recliner chair’s production lot is not listed in the recall notice, should I be concerned?
No. This recall only includes chairs with a specific design of the USB control panel that are linked to specific production lots listed on babylettorecall.com and the CPSC notice. Chairs without this design of the USB control panel are not affected. This was determined after an extensive investigation in partnership with independent testing labs and the US CPSC.
My chair was manufactured in the date range specified in the recall notice, but the production lot is not listed. What should I do?
Your chair is not part of the recall if the exact lot is not listed in the recall notice. You may continue to use your chair and enjoy all of the chair’s functions.
What required testing has the Kiwi Recliner undergone?
The Kiwi Recliner has undergone extensive third-party, independent testing to ensure compliance with both mandatory and voluntary safety standards for children’s products and household furnishings. Babyletto is committed to ensuring the compliance and safety of its products.

Chemical Safety

The recliner complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008, including rules for: lead levels in paint, coatings, and internal materials and restrictions on phthalates in children’s products

It also meets the ASTM F963-23 Toy Safety Standard, which sets strict limits on: lead in surface finishes and materials, heavy metal content and phthalates.

Flammability

The chair meets the CPSC’s upholstered furniture flammability requirement, which includes the California Technical Bulletin 117-2023 standards for smolder resistance in upholstered furniture. This helps to reduce the risk of fire of foam and filling materials without the use of fire retardant chemicals.

Electrical and Structural Safety

The Kiwi Recliner complies with UL 962, a voluntary but stringent safety standard for household and commercial furnishings with integrated electrical components. UL 962 is widely recognized as the premier North American standard. This certification ensures the product has passed rigorous testing related to electrical safety, fire risk, and structural integrity.

All Babyletto seating meets ANSI/BIFMA X5.4-2020 (Public and lounge seating), section 19 swivel test-cycling for stability.
